The Minister for Education, Matthew Opoku Prempeh has disclosed that all schools both private and the public have been closed until further notice.
He said this while addressing the media in Accra, on the wake of the series of Coronavirus Updates by government.
Mr. Opoku said it was very prudent to take this initiative to stop the spread of disease in the country.
“We had to bring back home the students after WAEC announced the suspension of this year’s WASSCE, this was because the disease was fast-spreading hence the need to bring them home to their parents” he said.
He also noted that any school authority that disobeys this directive will be dealt with drastically.
Speaking about tertiary institutions, Mr. Prempeh noted that, some selected universities in the country have been contacted with regards to measures to be taken to enhance the online learning system universities in the country have resorted.
“We spoke to some universities in the country and we are working on the best method to develop that will help us to still continue learning even though the students are home now”. he noted.
